This charter also doubles as a FAQ for the NorthWest Classic
Games Enthusiasts (although it
obviously isn't in a question-and-answer
format).
Preamble and History
The NorthWest Classic Games Enthusiasts (hereafter to be
referred to as the NWCGE) was
started by a group of videogame enthuisasts in early 1997.
The first official meeting was
organized on June, 1997. Collectors of both home console
(cartridge-based) and arcade
coin-op games are encouraged to share resources,
information, and stories of collecting. Events
of the NWCGE tend to include a large amount of competitive
gaming, including specific
tournaments. Modern games are not shunned from the meetings,
since the emphasise is on
gameplay. A blending of collecting and playing of all the
good quality videogames is strongly
promoted. In 1999 NWCGE joined The Vancouver Classic
Video Game Club (VCVGC) mailing
list. Mailing is merged with the VCVGC mailing list. While
the two clubs are still distinct from
one
another, it made sense to combine our online
discussions.
1. Purpose of NorthWest Classic Games Enthusiasts
Club
Contact. The main purpose of the NWCGE is to provide a
means to contact other

information are vital aspects of NWCGE

welcome to be played
between NWCGE/VCVGC members. .
2. Membership
No Fees. No fees will be charged for membership. This
means that there will not be

costs for events or resources from time to time, but it will
always be the choice of each
member whether to participate when money is
involved.

Tournaments. From time to time,VCVGC has
tournaments of multiplayer games will be
held,
either as a seperate event or as a part of a general
meeting. NWCGE encourages participation
with VCVGC when possible. All games in the tournaments should
be
strictly multiplayer games (meaning no "high score"
competitions, sorry). Rules of the
tournaments will be written up and placed on the web page.
Joust tournaments are already
strongly established with the VCVGC and include a FAQ
available on the web page.
Winners of the tournaments will also be published on the web
page. Other current
